Acute COVID-19 Recovery + Rehab and Physical Therapy
Gaylord treats patients recovering from COVID-19 in inpatient and outpatient settings. Inpatients come to Gaylord from an acute care hospital may need complex medical care, pulmonary care, ventilator weaning, and intensive rehabilitation. After recovery from initial COVID-19 infection, the outpatient team works with patients to coordinate care while prioritizing the patient’s personal recovery goals.
Common residual effects of COVID-19 addressed through outpatient services may include breathing difficulty and shortness of breath, muscle weakness, neuropathy and achy joints, depression and anxiety, cognitive processing and executive functioning difficulties – short term memory loss – “brain fog.”
